Vaccination prices are one of the first surprises of a new kitten, and they vary widely between practices. Here is what owners typically report paying, what a health plan changes, and the mistake that makes people pay for the same course twice.

Practice health plans
Most UK practices now offer a monthly plan covering vaccinations, routine flea and worming treatment, and one or two check-ups a year. If you would buy all of that anyway, a plan is usually cheaper and removes the annual bill shock. If you only want vaccinations, compare the twelve-month plan total against the individual prices before signing up.
Why insurance won't pay for it
UK pet insurance covers illness and injury, not preventative care, so vaccinations are excluded across the board. It works in the other direction too: if your kitten develops an illness that a routine vaccination would have prevented, an insurer can reduce or decline the claim. How owners end up paying twice
The primary course only works if the second injection lands inside the window the vaccine brand allows. Leave it too long and the practice restarts from the beginning — the same two injections, paid for again. The same happens with adult boosters that lapse.
